Must-have for winter

These make all the difference in being able to walk confidently on icy or crusty snow. Cons are that they sometimes pop off shoes that don't have a good "ledge" to hold them on (the Pro Yaktrax with the velcro strap don't have this problem), and the rubber eventually deteriorates and breaks -- they seem to last maybe two winters. My elderly parents have a little bit of trouble stretching Yaktrax over their shoes, so if buying for a person who doesn't have a lot of grip strengh I'd recommend going one size larger than the shoe size would indicate. But they work so well, and are so easy for me to put on, that I keep multiple pairs around, in the house and in our cars.
