Best thing for walking in icy conditions

I walk to work, and this winter I was happy to have my trusty Yaktrax. I bought new pairs for my husband and myself in case next year is as icy as this year has been, and I have recommended them to all my co-workers. I leave Yaktrax on my snow boots and on my usual walking shoes, so I don't have to take the Yaktrax on and off -- an easy thing to do, but having them on your shoes already is even easier.
