They work, better price than elsewhere

YakTrax work on icy snow, but one needs to be careful to not wear them on hard surfaces as the rubber will break if on too many hard surfaces. Otherwise they're fine. Easy on and off and they really do help traction when snow melts into ice. They feel fine when walking on snow, gravel, dirt, etc. but need to be removed when regular pavement, sidewalks, etc. But they're easy to remove and very light to carry. I paid significantly less at Sierra Trading Post than they sell for at other places, both in stores and online. (For some reason on this review form the options to describe self are climber-related. These are not for climbers. They are for anyone walking, including in urban areas on unplowed icy snow.)
  • Best Uses: Outdoor
  • Cons: Wears down
  • Pros: Comfortable, Simple
  • Sizing: Feels true to size
