Great for Grand Canyon's icy trails

I use the YakTraks mostly on my hikes down the Grand Canyon's icy trails in the winter time. They're easy to take on and off. They have good traction and fit over boots or shoes. Their weakness is that the elastic snaps (usually on the sides) over time and long hikes on rocky/icy mixed conditions of trails. I'm on my 4th pair but they are easier to use than the strap on 4-prong steel "mini-campons" that they sell at the Grand Canyon Store and they don't slip on your boot.
