Questionable Safety IssueVerified Buyer Reviewed by photojon from Chicago suburbs on Monday, July 3, 2017Not only would I not recommend these, I think STP would be doing a service for its customers by removing them from their offerings. One of them literally fell apart while I was attaching the basket. The internal string lost its connection with the bottom section, with no way to reattach it. The other pole worked almost OK, but it took a lot of muscle to pull the key section out far enough so that the locking button even became visible. (I thought the directions were wrong, at first.) When finally exposed, the locking button did not automatically engage. It finally did when pressing it with a snapping motion (think tiddlywinks) after a few tries. Anyone who might use these on a rough mountain trail risks injury, or worse. I returned mine to my new local STP store and purchased a pair of Leki poles of similar folding design. The difference in quality and ease of use was astounding. You get what you pay for.
