Not for me, but great boots

I was looking for a winter boot for snowshoeing and the occasional crampon hiking -- "hiking" is the operational word here, not "climbing". Back East the Whites (New Hampshire) and the Adirondacks (NY) often get icy along the ridge lines in the winter. These can be steep but doable without equipment in the summer, but definitely need crampons in the winter. The Expert Ibex look like a great boot but the soles don't flex at all. This makes them perfect for climbing but not perfect for my purposes. Indeed, I tried to flex them a couple of different ways but even using all of my weight I was unable to move them. As I said, this probably makes them perfect for a climber, but not for this hiker.
