4.0 out of 5 stars. Scarpa MagicReviewed by Utah Ski from Salt Lake City, UT on Friday, November 18, 2011I bought these boots at the sierra outpost store, and tried on pretty much every size. I have worn boots that were too big on me for my entire 20 year ski career, so I was not really good at boot sizing. DEFINITELY read the post about sizing ("It should feel too small. Toes hitting the front of the booties. Take bootie out. Measure foot in plastic shell. One finger width of space behind heel: that's a good fit"). I did not follow these instructions, and after hiking for an hour, and skiing one run, I found out that they are too big on me. Unfortunately the store didn't have the size I needed, so I went up a half size. I also have a very narrow foot: Not sure if these would have been low-volume enough for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Scarpa Magic Dynafit compatiblesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Dynafit convert from NH on Friday, April 22, 2011It should feel too small. Toes hitting the front of the booties. Take bootie out. Measure foot in plastic shell. One finger width of space behind heel: that's a good fit. Lightweight, DYNAFIT binding compatible. Use a boot fitter for proper sizing before purchase. Have them MOLDED to your feet by boot fitter. Enjoy the ease of skinning up, faster than you can imagine, if combined with lightweight skis and DYNAFIT bindings.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Best ever!Verified Buyer Reviewed by JK Backcountry from Winooski, Vermont on Monday, March 21, 2011I am new to the Alpine Touring world but have done a lot of resort skiing and these are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. The walk release is great and there is just the right amount of flex in the boot for comfort but enough support to really lean into the boot. Fantastic.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Very light boot!Verified Buyer Reviewed by AT newbie from Reno, NV on Sunday, March 20, 2011I can't say much about the performance or warmth of these boots, as I haven't been skiing on them yet. But they seem comfortable out of the box, and I'm impressed with the light weight. I'm switching from tele to AT because tele gear is heavy. These boots are 1.5 lb lighter PER FOOT than the BD Trance boots I'd been using. I ski exclusively backcountry and don't ride the lift, so weight matters a lot.
It's a three buckle boot, which helps with the light weight, but my AT friends tell me that it won't ski like a four-buckle boot, which will be stiffer and probably allow for more aggressive skiing. Since I'm not new to skiing but am an AT beginner, this doesn't matter to me.
Important to note that the shell size on this brand changes at the half size, not the whole size. I'd originally gotten the Mondo 26 (good sizing system based on foot length in cm) but the 26.5 was a better fit because the shell was bigger as well as the liner.- Describe Yourself: Intermediate
