They are a tiny bit on the heavy side but I'm hoping that will mean they will last longer. I got size 42 (9 US) and they fit me perfectly. I like them so much I got spares right away because at that price you just can't go wrong!

I'm US size 10.5 in Keen, and these shoes in 44 were definitely snug at the beginning. Some break-in was required, and after a few miles the shoes loosened up. Good support for those suffering from plantar fasciitis.

Scarpa knows what they are doing when it comes to constructing well made, comfortable foot ware, The pair of Stratos I purchased was definitely worth the cost - they form fit my feet and make walking and hiking the miles almost effortless.

Waterproofing questionableReviewed by Anonymous from California on Wednesday, May 15, 2019While the fit is good (I took the advice and ordered a half size up) - the shoe is a bit on the heavy side but feels durable for more rugged hiking surfaces. My reason for the low rating is my concern about how effective the waterproofing is. I used the shoes for the first time today and walked a local golf course early in the morning while there was still dew on the ground. By the time my 5 mile hike was over my socks on the inside of the shoe were wet while the socks above the shoe were not which says the moisture came through the shoe.
Disappointing because I planned to use them hiking in Croatia where there is often rain. -

I love the durability of a Polyurethane midsole over the softer EVA foam, and these have performed as hoped! My feet are a bit wide, and these comfortably accomodate. I hope to have these shoes for years to come!

Very good walking shoes; go up one EUR sizeReviewed by Anonymous from Pocono Mts, PA on Saturday, January 12, 2019These shoes are very well made: thick suede leather, well cut, pieced and stitched, and form fitted for a real foot shape. The outer sole is a bit hard, which should make it a bit less cushioned, but more durable. The in-sole insert is not thick, but is denser than many modern ones, so it should conform the the foot shape, but not flatten out too much. Re: sizing - I tried both my nominal EUR size and one size up. The nominal size fit with the thinest of socks only. One EUR size up fit with a normal thickness sock and left a bit of toe room, which is what I wanted. Still feels very stable with no undesirable slippage. Color appears slate black indoors, with a bit of very dark brown visible in direct sunlight. I really like these and recommend them for most people wanting a more serious walking shoe. Only reason not to try them is if you prefer extra cushioned, soft soled shoes.
