It came shipped in an extra ziplock bag, because, it has a very very strong cologne scent. I am unfamiliar with this brand, so didn't expect it. It is not an unpleasant fragrance, just very strong, very masculine. I would not describe it as a "fresh scent", as that implies to me a lighter scent. I'm would guess the scent would fade while you bathe, though.
