4.0 out of 5 stars. What is a Pumori?Verified Buyer Reviewed by Alfein from Salt Lake City, UT on Saturday, October 3, 2015Turns out it is a mountain in Nepal and some think it is a perfect warm-up for Everest. Polartec 300 is the heaviest fleece I have encountered. I do not know if they make higher. Its weight s one reason I got this jacket. It has a beefy feel. The other reason I got it was because Jack Wolfskin has a standard "System Zip" for their interchange products. Although neither Wolfskin nor STP seem to want to advertise what products work together. One must do a good deal of sleuthing in order to determine what mates with what. Unfortunately that is not quite enough.
I got a Cold Harbour Parka shell with a Down zip-in liner. I thought it would be a good idea to get a heavy fleece liner as well. After reading a bunch, I found that a lot of products come with left-hand zippers.I mean, why use a left hand zipper unless it is to zip into another product, right? The Pumori has a left hand zipper. It does not zip into the Cold Harbour Parka. It is a smaller zipper, has the pull on only the outside (and not the inside)
One other item of note is that Wolfskins web site mentions an alternate to the standard, which sounds like it is made for shorter torsos. So even though the Pumori's length is about right, they went with the smaller zipper. Perhaps system interchange stuff fell out of favor. But why the heck use a left hand zip?
It's a good fleece jacket either way and I can just layer it under the parka. That's just not quite as slick.
