The sole is very lightweight, and seems to have good tread. The heel is cut a bit low around the ankle, yet it is a very comfortable fit. the heel is nice and soft to absorb impact.
The lacing system is unusual for this type of shoe, but it works well and I like the way I can get a great fit by adjusting the cord laces. They are not elastic laces, just regular cord laces. I will likely replace mine with 550 paracord.
They seem to be well made, for the price point. After a whopping 3 mile city park hike, no complaints. Shoes fit great and feel great. maybe a bit narrow for the size, so if you like more toe room I'd order up a half size. I don't mind the narrow toe so its not an issue for me.
The only thing I wish would be different is the toe rand. It is a molded rubber material made to simulate nubuck. I'd prefer the real stuff.
Overall, after 1 day I am happy and plan on keeping them.
