It is hard to tell from the pictures and description. This is much lighter weight and pretty stretchy. Great style though, I love the color and pattern. This would be prefect for fall or days where you don't really need a hat for the warmth but just want one.

It's a bit thin but since it fits so well I can wear it under another hat or hood. Nice enough that I bought another one in a different color.

I have a small to medium head and it fits great and doesn't ride up like some of my other beanies have. There doesn't seem to be much insulation so I have a feeling it may not be ideal for really cold days on the slopes or backcountry. However, I haven't tested it in any harsh weather. Mostly I bought the hat to wear around town and have worn it in temps down to 20 F and had a nice warm head.
