The first time I wore them I was running late for an appointment that was within walking distance. I put these on without socks and took off! They were comfortable out of the box, and passed the walking test. I like that there is no exposed cork to get dirty. I have purchased other Birkenstocks, but only if the cork foot bed is covered. They fit perfectly and I have no problems like other reviewers with toes sliding over the front edge. My regular shoe size is 8.5 N. They are light, soft throughout, and easy to keep clean. The high sides and wide straps keep my feet protected while being cool at the same time. I love them. As for the way they look, hey. To me, just about all Birkenstock footwear looks hip and happening. Thank you.

Not the look I was going for so these went back.

However, I had to go to a local shoe repair to have more holes punched in al three straps. Going barefoot takes some getting use to due to the footbed texture but I don't feel it with socks

Runs small, toes over the edge!Reviewed by Anonymous from Taiwan on Wednesday, May 21, 2014I ordered a 39N because that it what I always wear in Birkenstocks, but this size turned out to be wayyy small in these Birkis - toes hanging over the edge small. If they were available, I might size up to a 41, but as is, will just have to return. I was most attracted to these b/c of their plastic-ey footbed because I live somewhere with a hot "rainy season" which does not bode well for regular Birkenstocks. My initial impression about this footbed is mixed, on one hand, it would not get ruined by rain (pro). However, with a bit of moisture on the footbed, from either rain or sweat, I think you might be at risk of your toes sliding over the front edge. Since the pair I ordered are way too small I can't evaluate this fully, but I am skeptical.

I am sure someone without my sensitivity will really enjoy them. As usual with STP, very reasonably priced.
