Based on other reviews about size, I ordered a large and they fit perfectly. I'm 5'7", just a tad under 150. I wore them on a 40 miler and was very comfortable. The color is dark grey.

They have a good length, to just a bit above my knees, grip well and don't ride up. They feel very well made and like they will last for quite a while!

I also wear them under riding (horse) breeches when I'm on long trail rides. They save the saddle sores.

At first I was a little surprised by the thickness of the seat pad as it seemed a little bulky. I purchased the gray color and they are a nice variation-5 feet 130 lbs and the medium fit good-not super tight. Great shorts for a great price!

My first pair lasted many years and I found the Kiss chamois very comfortable. I also like the longer leg length. XL fits my generous rear - 5' 7" 180lb. The black had sold out so I took a chance on the amethyst and was very pleased when they arrived. Liked these shorts so much that when the navy became available I ordered another pair. I highly recommend Castelli cycle shorts for their comfort, fit and quality.

However, they make different lines for the hardcore racer types who have minimal body fat and relatively few curves on their bodies. Hence some of their apparel doesn't fit those of us that have the somewhat womanly curved body. However, this short works very well on my size 14 athletic woman body. I got a size XL because I know Castelli runs a bit small. These fit very well, the chamois pad stays put, no slipping side to side on long rides, the waist band is snugly comfortable. For comparison of sizing: In Pearl Izumi shorts I usually wear a size L.
