The t-shirt fabric is soft and oh so comfy. The strap across the front is wide enough to be secure, but not so thick as to look "clunky", and it can be moved around and adjusted across the front of the foot for individual comfort. The beads don't press uncomfortably - I can't even feel them. Very simple design, but keeps my foot secure in the shoe. The only teensy drawback I found is that the back strap has very little stretch, so it makes it feet a bit tight between my toe due to the pull from the back strap. If you are a half size, I would suggest you size up for this reason.
