Most Helpful 5-Star Review

5.0 out of 5 stars. Mixed reviews, worth the gamble!!!

Stumbled upon these when I was looking for a good boot that would serve me well in negative temps (Wyoming & Idaho) and not break the bank! I've had these for about 2 years now, and since I struggled over the mixed reviews while deciding to purchase, I figured I would write one:)

1. So the biggest complaint in other reviews is the size and this left me very hesitant, but I eventually ordered the same as my shoe size, a size 8. (Just to preface, this is based on my own feet, which tend to be a little more narrow than most.) The sizes do run a little large, but in my opinion, not unbearably so. Personally, I prefer boots to fit a little big, as I can wear thicker pairs of socks comfortably and not feel trapped in or have a little wiggle room. However, if your goal is to wear thin socks with these, most likely order a size smaller than your normal shoe size.

2. Bulkiness- they are a tad on the heavier side, but compared to thinner boots I've owned, these are by far the warmer, more durable ones. Again, it depends on your purpose for buying these. I was looking for boots that provide excellent warmth and protection in below zero temps, and that's exactly what these do! I'll take a little extra bulkiness in order to ensure my feet stay warm all day no matter how long I'm trekking around outside in the snow. And yes, they truly are waterproof, which is a huge +++

3. Style/appearance- Some reviews complained about the style being unattractive. I've actually gotten quite a few compliments from random strangers while out and about, so I guess it just depends on your preference. They look exactly like the picture, so there were no surprises there. It's somewhat of a plain style, but I like that. Sorrel may have more stylish options, but I was not looking to pay Sorrel prices! These are an excellent price, with comparable quality to Sorrel's and other high end names.

Bottom line- Kodiak offers an excellent product, especially for the price! So far these have held up for me in -25 degree temps and do not disappoint! Even after 2 years of rigorous wear, I have not noticed any changes in the quality. Definitely worth a try!

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Great boot but hard to get a good fit

I love this boot but when it arrived it was too small with any socks. They don't come in 1/2 sizes and the description says to go up 1/2. Many of the reviews said it was too big so that makes it hard to decide what to order. I had to guess and guessed wrong, I wear a 6 to 6.5 generally and ordered the 6 and had to returned it, ordered a 7 from another company and it fits well. Couldn't exchange it because they were out of stock.

I had to put arch supports in these but I have to put those in all my shoes. They are warm and comfy and great in heavy snow. They are a little heavy themselves, but I don't mind it.

If you want some super warm boots, these are it! They are a tad heavy tho, just in case that would bother you. You don't even need to wear any thick socks with these. I ordered my size and found them true to size, I would not have room for thick socks but they aren't needed with these boots.

Exactly what I was hoping for and expected! Came right before a big snow storm--they were awesome and perfect!

Today, after more than a century of producing extremely rugged and reliable Kodiak snow boots, work boots and outdoor footwear, this brand remains extremely committed to setting a high bar with innovations like shock-absorbing Comfortzone insoles, slip-resistant Ultimate SR outsoles and metal-free Rockfibre safety toes that meet or exceed CSA and ASTM standards.
