5.0 out of 5 stars. I'm happy!

First I got size S in Graphite/Bright Rose. It was too roomy and the shiny black fabric looked like a trash bag. Exchanged for XS in a different color, and I love it! Torso fits just right, sleeves are still long enough. A little snug at the armpits, but it doesn't restrict my movement so I can live with it, plus it seems to be breaking in. I'm 5'5" and 125lbs. Been wearing it every day for 2 weeks in early winter variable weather. Wearing light and/or medium layers under, and I've been very comfortable. Haven't tried a shell over it yet - looking forward to the opportunity! It packs into it's own pocket which was awesome for holiday travel. The zipper is a little sticky at the bottom, but it seems to be getting smoother with use. This is a great down jacket.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. nice jacket

The jacket is tight in the shoulders and sleeves; I had to size up. If you are broad shouldered or busty, your normal sizing could be tight. Its very packable and warm and not bulky.

True to size. Small fits generously on 5'5", 110 lb frame. Light weight and very packable.
  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. Wanted it sooo badly

Colored ordered was like a flamingo. It was beautiful - unfortunately they used black feathers for fill. The jacket looked filthy because of this. You would think if they are using a light colored outer layer they would use only white feathers.
  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. Poor durability not worth the warmth

This jacket is so warm but I wish it held up to the rigors of everyday life! Within a week of wearing it had a tear and the seams on the arms started unraveling. The stitching is large and snags really easily. I should have saved up and bought Patagonia like I had before. Not pleased with Mountain Hardwear...more like Mountain Software.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Warm and very lightweight.

Used for backpacking when excess weight really matters. Order a size up if you can. I couldn't zip the small (and I'm not well endowed). Luckily the medium was still in stock and fits well.

About Mountain Hardwear

From the very beginning, the primary goal of Mountain Hardwear was to create an outdoor gear brand with a sharp focus on technology-driven design, superior performance and hardcore reliability. The result of this function-first mentality has been an array of incredible Mountain Hardwear jackets, clothing, tents, backpacks, sleeping bags and accessories. Today, after more than two decades of industry-leading innovation, Mountain Hardwear continues to set new benchmarks for dependability in the toughest conditions on the planet.
