4.0 out of 5 stars. works well. bulky thou.Reviewed by veve from los angeles, ca on Thursday, January 3, 2013this is very useful to have when car camping, otherwise it's too bulky and not worth carrying it around.
easy to use, good quality, works well. it takes a little longer than expected to make one cup of coffee (almost 10 mins). but then again, i might be using the wrong ground coffee size -
2.0 out of 5 stars. bulky for backpackersVerified Buyer Reviewed by Ciderman from Olympia, WA on Monday, October 8, 2012We bought 2 of these units, one for backpacking and the other for our sailboat. But they are too large and bulky for either use. We'll stick to our proven way - Melitta one and a cup.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Not for BackpackingVerified Buyer Reviewed by Mike from Lafayette, LA on Monday, October 1, 2012The idea / engineering is good with emphasis on ease of use, produing a couple cups of coffee or tea right in the wide bottom cup. You won't be taking this backpacking. It's too heavy and bulky but will work well for car camping and that is how I would reccommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Nicely made, but heavyVerified Buyer Reviewed by Scout Leader from Greenville, NC on Tuesday, July 24, 2012Neat system, don't understand why the "mug" is bigger than the cooker section. And, I have a glove, don't need the heavy insulated mug. There is a lightweight folding handle on the cooker, why not the same on the mug.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Fantastic cup of coffeeReviewed by WWIINut from West Chester, OH on Saturday, July 7, 2012This is perfect for one or two people. It makes an excellent cup of coffee and I even used normal ground coffee. I didnt have any issues with leaking. Just remember to put the filter/cover on before flipping!
It does take 7-10 minutes (not sure exactly) for it to filter the entire cup but I am usually busy making breakfast anyway. Be sure to not over-load the coffee as it takes much longer to filter. The coffee is on the strong side anyway so you dont need to load it heavy.
The one down side is cleaning to make another cup or for storage, but it is less of a mess than a perculator makes. As a bonus, the cup is great to use all day long as a simple insulated drinking cup when you are using ice in a drink.
The only thing I think that should have been included was a cover/sipper for the cup.- Best Uses: Car Camping

1.0 out of 5 stars. hard to open when hotReviewed by Skippie from Yellowknife, NT on Tuesday, July 3, 2012Really nice. I was looking forward to use it. I decided to tried it in house first to make sure I like it before I'm stuck in the bush without coffee! I found that once you turned it over and wait a few minutes for the water to go down to the cup, the middle plastic part expand and I couldn't pull it apart from the cup. I'll stick with my usual coffee maker.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Better Than ExpectedReviewed by Camping Friend from Layton, Utah on Friday, June 22, 2012The Brunton Flip N Drip Coffee Maker made an excellent cup of coffee this chilly morning. It took a few extra minutes to clean the above coffee maker. Like, any new coffee maker I had to use trial and error to get the right amount of grounds to brew the coffee the way I like it. In the future I will also experiment on the size of the coffee grounds (medium to course). It made about a travel mug full of coffee.
