5.0 out of 5 stars. When you know what is the bestReviewed by Spinewrencher from Vancouver, BC on Thursday, December 13, 2018When you know what is the best, why waste time and money on stuff that is not the best? You cannot beat Simms quality and the Guide jacket is no exception. I have coveted this for a long time and made do with other jackets. They work fine, not perfectly especially when wading deep, but always wanted a true wading jacket that was designed for fishing. I river, lake and ocean fish. Year around. And here in BC that means rain. Lots of it. This Goretex jacket will keep me dry for sure. The pockets are well thought out. The jacket will last the rest of my fishing days (at 63 I figure only 20 more years scrambling through bramble, over slippery rocks etc.). When I saw this on STP before I just could not get over being cheap so did not order. After a particulary wet trip this fall, when I as this jacket come up at a bargain price I snapped it up! It poured yesterday and the jacket kept me bone dry. Wish I had pulled the trigger years ago. Oh, and I spent hours and hours looking at every other jacket out there from all over the world in case there was something better and cheaper. There isn’t! Don’t waste time, I did that for you, don’t waste money, spend the savings on something else! Thanks Simms and STP for a top notch product at an awesome price.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Simms Guide Gore-Tex® Jacket - Waterproof (For Men)Verified Buyer Reviewed by Brian from West Coast on Sunday, December 2, 2018Can't beat the sale price. Jacket is on the light weight side, while rain and wind proof, still will not fight the very cold weather. I wear a XL street jacket, so I purchased a XXL wader jacket. I can put on warmer jacket first, tucked inside my waders, and still wear my guide jacket while feeling comfortable fishing. Even if air temp raises and I peal layers jacket still wears fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Everything I hoped forReviewed by Anonymous from AZ on Sunday, November 4, 2018I've been wanting one of these jackets for a year now. Looked all over the web on major holidays for an affordable price. Never found one on sale. Saw these first show up on STP for 40% off and darn near tripped over myself jumping on this deal. Haven't gotten to use it yet. But it fits well. Plenty of large pockets. Absolutely no complaints so far

4.0 out of 5 stars. Great Jacket-Great PriceVerified Buyer Reviewed by Kenny A from Long Island, NY on Friday, November 2, 2018This SIMMS Gore-tex jacket is well designed and does the trick in wet, windy weather. The short body is perfect for wading; the built-in neck buff and hood are warm and efficient. I did find the hood, when rolled up behind the neck, to be annoyingly high, but much more comfortable when laying on back. The cuff design is excellent with the water-tight velcro closures under the cuff eliminating a tangle spot when casting fly line. Lastly, 2 built-in zingers are very handy.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great price and Simms Quality!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Mortgage Guy on the Fly from Bend on Monday, October 29, 2018This Jacket is $150 off any typical fly shop so why pay more than you have too. Remember this jacket is shorter on the length of where it rides on your waist as it’s next used and made for waders. I am 6’3” inches and 220lb with a slender build and the large fit just right. I debated going with the XL but when I tried one on at the fly shop I was happier with the slimmer fit of the Large.
Can’t wait to get out and swing for some Steelhead with this. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Outstanding light fishing jacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Judy schoenberg from Vancouver, Washington on Sunday, October 28, 2018The jacket is for light weather. The hood fits nicely with a baseball cap. The jacket also can be worn to other events beside fishing. It has a classic style.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Simms Guide Wading JacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Indiana on Thursday, October 18, 2018I have looked at wading jackets for fly fishing for over a year. Dedicated fly fishing gear is often very pricey. I found this Simms jacket at Sierra Trading Post - at a price I could live with. I saved over 40% and enjoyed free shipping!
I now add Sierra Trading Post online as my #1 shopping resource. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Apocalypse ProofVerified Buyer Reviewed by Andrew from WA on Thursday, October 11, 2018I have spent a few days chasing chrome in this jacket and can say it feels like a small fortress. I have remained dry in constant drizzle, comfortable in heavy downpour, and able to dump heat by unzipping when moving hard and fast. The materials and craftsmanship are second to none and I would not necessitate any changes before buying again, but if i did here are a few- make the collar adjustable. It is tall and stiff and a few hem cords or a roll away feature would be nice. That way it isn't in your face while unzipped. I would also add one or two more internal pockets, maybe an easy drop in mesh. The built in zingers are great... but they could stand to be a foot longer! Otherwise bomber jacket, legendary Simms quality, and for the heavy discount on STP I should have bought two. Tight lines!
