  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. Ugliest boots I ever saw

This is a very subjective review because it reflects my taste rather than a review of quality, sizing, etc. I bought these for my wife. I opened the box which was HUGE and took one look and was appalled. First of all they are a lot taller than I had imagined. Secondly, "lavished abandon" is quite an accurate description of how the shearling is applied. I pictured my poor wife pulling a wagon load of Budweiser beer up a hill. Now I am an old geezer, so I called in my stylish 27 year-old secretary to take a look. She took a look and just said: "Oh my God. Where's the return label?" She also pointed out that they "shed". There were wisps of wool stuck to the chair. Hey...these may be just the boots you were looking for all your life. Is so...enjoy!

The first pair arrive badly soiled and clearly had been a return that was restocked and shipped out again. STP replaced the first pair with a perfectly beautiful NEW pair. Love them. Predictions are for a bad winter this year. Bring it on. I am ready.

I got these on sale for $135-what a steal. I had to trim some of the fur that was too long near the heels. They fit perfectly and feel like a bedroom slipper; Very warm-what a fashion statement with jeans

I own another pair of Sorel boots. I wear a 7 1/2 and they are an 8. I was told that I should go for size 7 on these (which they didn't have) and I ordered the 8. They are fine. I wear a sock with them and they are comfortable and cozy. Lots of compliments. The only downside is that there are multiple areas where the wool is matted. I'm afraid to try to untangle them because it will probably pull out the wool and be bare!

About Sorel

Canadians know a thing or two about cold weather, so it's not surprising they were behind one of the most popular cold-weather boots ever created. Sorel - founded in Kitchener, Ontario, in 1962 - is perhaps best known for the ubiquitous Caribou, a boot that pioneered the use of a unique material that reflected heat back to the foot. This reflective material was incorporated into Sorel's advanced four-layer construction process that includes a weather-resistant shell, wicking liners and ThermoPlus® felt inner liners to keep feet dry and toasty. Now nearly a century old, Sorel continues to meet the rigorous demands of today's active lifestyles - from snowmobiling to snowshoeing, sledding to skiing - with its highly respected line of footwear and apparel.
