4.0 out of 5 stars. Not badVerified Buyer Reviewed by Julia from Alaska on Wednesday, May 24, 2017I like the shoes. However they have extremely hard soles, so breaking them in is a little rough but overall they're great.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Amazingly comfortableVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Washington on Monday, May 22, 2017I bought these boots as a lightweight pair of hikers for spring - fall. They are so comfortable, well constructed, and light weight. So happy with my purchase!

5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent quality Scandinavian boots!Verified Buyer Reviewed by goldengirlstudio from Virginia on Thursday, May 4, 2017I confess, I have always bought cheap hiking boots in my 25+ years of hiking. I've gone through several pairs of canvas/suede boots over the years, and while they've been okay, these Hanwag boots are the real deal. You can tell the difference in quality the minute you pull them out of the box. Now, they are a tad heavier than your "light hiker" types of boots, but not so much that you feel weighted down. The leather upper is firm yet flexible, with a nice nubuck finish, and the sole is shock absorbent.
One thing that takes some getting used to is the "one-sided" tongue...in other words, it only opens on one side, like a flap, instead of the typical tongue that is open on both sides. The good thing about that is it offers extra support across the foot, and it also keeps your feet much drier. These boots are true to size, and I have a bit of a wide foot -- these don't pinch! The arch support is also top notch. You could literally walk for miles in these things, and I plan to do so. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. These are the Best Deal You'll Find on Sierra Trading PostVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Pacific Northwest on Thursday, April 27, 2017I bought a pair of these six month so ago and like them so much that I bought a second pair in case I ever need to replace them. I am the pickiest person you know when it comes to hiking boots and these are exactly what I've been searching for. They are well-made, re-soleable, lightweight but stiff enough for rough trail conditions, and, most importantly, they are comfortable and keep my feet warm and dry. Buy these boots.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Warm, tough and comfyVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Pacific Northwest on Wednesday, November 16, 2016I wore out a pair of the lighter weight Hanwag Banks GTX, which are nice but just not beefy enough for the kind of outdoor activities that I enjoy. Canyon Futuras are a step up in weight and stiffness so I was surprised that they feel so light and comfortable on my feet-- maybe even more comfy than the Banks GTX because of the tongue design. I've been out in wet, off-trail conditions and these are definitely keepers. They run large. I bought the UK6 and they are probably about 1/2 a size too large for my size 8 1/2 feet. That's what I wanted because I have bunions and orthotics and need the extra space in the toe box. The heels do not slip because of the nice soft, grippy leather lining.
