The wood is nice, but the metal parts and spring are very cheaply made. I am the grandson of a shoemaker and was brought up to always to keep nice leather shoes nice.

Simple spring mechanism keeps proper tension on my shoes both in length and width, and the red cedar is delightfully aromatic. Grab 'em while STP's still got 'em.
