5.0 out of 5 stars. does its jobVerified Buyer Reviewed by LibbyGH from Santa Cruz Mountains CA on Thursday, June 22, 2017Trail and city-tested in Scotland's rainy summer, Marmot's Crux Jacket kept me dry, if not quite warm when the weather was <55F. Thin jacket needed a thermal layer or two underneath, for which there is room enough. Fabric on the shoulders stood up to frequent donning and doffing of my pack, as well as carrying a heavy duffel, although the shoulder reinforcements tended to shed the duffel strap. The hood is the right size, with room enough for a hat underneath, but not so large that it swallows my head. My only (small) complaint is that the white lining on black jacket looks a little, I don't know, cheap--which this jacket definitely is not.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Love this JacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Amanda B from Kentucky on Tuesday, June 6, 2017I had the Marmot Precip for several years and was very pleased with it. Unfortunately I lost it recently and when looking to replace it, I knew Marmot had great quality for the price. When I saw the Crux jacket was on Clearance making it only slightly more expensive than the Precip and lighter I thought I might as well give it a try. I'm glad I did as when I was comparing it to my boyfriend's Precip jacket it was in fact much lighter/thinner, packs smaller, and has a much more flattering look on me (in my opinion). The hood brim is quite large (which I like as it keeps the water off my face better). Either jacket is a great buy, but I am glad I went out on a limb to try this one. Of course time will tell how well the lighter/thinner material holds up in comparison to the Precip, but so far I am very pleased. This jacket does feel much more technical than the Precip.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Good construction but odd fitVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Pennsylvania on Tuesday, June 6, 2017Very nice fabric, it is light and airy. Easy to pack and carry for hikes and such. Well constructed. The fit is rather odd, though -- I am typically a small, and the small fit well around shoulders and chest but was extremely tight on hips. Exchanged it for the medium, and the hips are still somewhat tight, and now the arms and chest are too big. Note that I definitely am curvy at the hips, but fairly average for women in their thirties. The product seems to be made for women who have a fairly straight chest/torso/hips. I am keeping the product but the fit is imperfect in the medium.
