5.0 out of 5 stars. Feels true to size, warm.

Got this as a warm option for cold day outs when I am not particularly active. It is slightly longer than a sweater style down jacket, so the bottom of the jacket comes down to about the middle of my butt. There's a drawstring at the bottom to tightened it up and keep the drafts out. It has a light fleece liner on the neck and inside the front pockets which adds to the coziness of it. It's very packable. Great jacket!

Great jacket! Good fit for average build guy who's not built like a bean pole. Not overly bulky but plenty warm for Breckenridge winter.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. nice but too small

Nice jacket - excellent price, but ran small for my husband. He usually takes a large, but couldn't zipper this jacket. We were able to sent it back with Sierra's excellent return policy, but sadly an XL wasn't available.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Heavy and Bulky

This jacket is very warm and of good quality, but has no place outside of the concrete jungle. The highland Down jacket weighs a pound and a half which is at least twice as heavy as most down jackets. The jacket is also very bulky and will not compress and stuff like most down jackets making it take up too much valuable space in a pack. It would be a great camp jacket but the material it is made out of would not hold up well with chores around camp. That leaves this jacket as merely a fashion jacket, left to adventure and explore weekends filled with kid's soccer games and chores around town. No thanks, mine is headed back for a refund.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
