5.0 out of 5 stars. Great fit!

This fit my husband perfectly. He has 361/2 inch arms and he has sleeve length to spare. Doesn't ride up to let wind in. Bought two since they fit so well.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Nice looking jacket

I bought this jacket for cooler weather and haven't had a chance to use it yet. I took a chance on the color (wasn't my 1st pick), I'm happy with the look and the fit is great. I think this is a keeper.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Very nice jacket but sleeves are too long

The Prodigy is similar to the Marmot Leadville, but "beefier.". Although the Prodigy and Leadville are both constructed with Windstopper and Marmot M2 materials, the Prodigy is noticeably thicker and heavier. It seems like a perfect shell for high output activities in cold weather. As some reviewers have pointed out, the sleeves on this jacket are really long - longer than any other Marmot jacket I have. Although I like longer sleeves for cycling, the sleeves on the Prodigy are still too long even in a stretched out position in front of the body. The only practical application for such long sleeves seems to be for climbing. For hiking or general urban wear, the sleeves bunch up and looks strange. And, due to the thicker material, I found it very difficult to lift the cuff to view my watch. I would recommend viewing images of people wearing this jacket on Google to get a better perspective of the sleeve length.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Marmot Prodigy

Very nice jacket in a trim fit. Order a size larger than normal to wear layers underneath. Good idea and good fit; however, the sleeves were three inches pass my finger tips. It has a velcro sleeve closure but that much extra material bunched on my arms was the deal breaker. Had to send it back. Wish I could have kept it, it was really nice.

This is my second prodigy jacket, the grey one from the previous year was my first, and I love the tapered fit of this jacket. I benefit from help in the tailoring department in accentuating my physique while hiding it at the same time. Middle aged guys know what I'm saying. I (220# - 6') usually wear a 48L and I bought the XL. it has plenty of shoulder and torso room and the waist isn't to tight or too baggy comfortably reaching down your back being a good length. I think about buying more every time I visit the sight and hope Marmot brings it out again next year too.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
