5.0 out of 5 stars. Durable comfortable shoe

Solid, comfortable, reasonably attractive shoe. For a reasonable price. The sole is not light foam like a running shoe, more of a dense rubber texture. Very grippy. Build quality is good. Happy so far.

Light weight and comfortable. True to size. The color is more blue than I expected.

Rarely do I venture into buying shoes for my husband that meets such success.
He LOVES these so much, he even wore them golfing!
    Just ordered a second pair.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Comfortable but not sure about mfg. quality

These shoes are very comfortable, but the manufacturing quality is not great, and I don't expect them to be very durable or to last overly long. I bought a size 10; they're a bit short for a 10, the heel is wide and the forefoot quite narrow, made for a lower-volume foot. The gusseted tongue is finished poorly, with rough lumps in the stitching, and I have to lace the right shoe loosely to avoid irritation. The gluing of sole to upper feels flimsy, and I fear eventual delamination. The sole is very grippy with a good pattern (albeit leaving a small footprint), but I wouldn't use these as hikers on anything more rugged than a rail trail (fortunately, I bought them as leisure shoes rather than hikers). I'd rate these as 3.5 stars, but can't round up to 4 considering the bad stitching in the tongue.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Not what I was hoping for

These were just a bit sloppy fit-wise and without a stable foundation. I was hoping these would have been a bit more robust. A rare return for something other than size...

About Merrell

The story of Merrell boots all started with a guy named Randy Merrell, who began handcrafting leather hiking boots back in 1981, shortly after graduating from industrial shoemaking school. By the mid-80s, Randy’s boots had already gained critical acclaim before being named “best boots in the world” by Backpacker Magazine. The next decade saw the arrival of new footwear, including the ever-popular Jungle Moc, which helped launch the after-sport category. Today, Merrell hiking boots, running shoes and sneakers are still among the best on the market, always combining the newest technology, innovative designs and outstanding comfort. Whether you hike, run, walk or just appreciate high-quality shoes and boots, we’re confident that you’ll love Merrell shoes.
