Most Helpful 5-Star Review

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great headlamp
Verified Buyer Reviewed by alpineashley from Bar Harbor, ME on Thursday, October 22, 2009
I got this because I found a great deal on it and read great reviews about the product on a number of sites. After purchasing it I intended to use it almost exclusively as a night climbing headlamp, but it has been invaluable for long day hikes that spill into night, and will be my companion for ice climbing. It is very bright (I in fact usually only need it on the dimmest setting), and simple and light enough for everything I could possibly want. I rarely replace gear because I prefer to treat it gently and repair it when it breaks, but I had this Gizmo headlamp from BD that was dreadful (too many issues to list here) and this headlamp fully surpassed my expectations. I can't recommend it highly enough. If you are looking for a solid headlamp that is light, bright and without too many extra frills (IE things to go wrong when you need that the least) I would say, hands down, this is the light for you.

  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. Great light, weak and poorly designed battery cover
Reviewed by Anonymous from Atlanta, GA on Saturday, March 24, 2018
Like other have stated, this is a good light. It's bright and comfortable. Unfortunately, the small plastic latch that holds the battery compartment door closed breaks easily. Once that happens, it's rubber bands or duct tape - but who wants to resort to that. I have asked Princeton Tec to warranty the light, but I am not sure if they will.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Lightweight

Fits well without drooping. I've only had it for a week so don't know how long it will last--my last one purchased elsewhere lasted two months. So far I'm happy with it. I use it to walk the dog at night.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Better to light one candle
Verified Buyer Reviewed by David Lahm from Connecticut on Monday, February 16, 2015
Well, now I can do away with the candles.
I do a lot of work outside at night where I require use of both hands.
This light fills that need very well.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. The price is right

Great product for the price. I've gone through most of the major models and brands and in the end headlamps break. I'll never pay full price for one again and this is a great one for all around purposes. Backpacking, splitting wood, trudging to the outhouse, whatever.
